Nikki Pesusich is a seasoned public relations and marketing communications executive who excels at developing and implementing multi-platform campaigns for a broad range of entertainment, lifestyle, corporate, nonprofit, entrepreneurial and social impact clients. She has worked for and alongside such conglomerates as NBCUniversal, Discovery Networks, PBS, Paramount Studios, Warner Bros., MGM, Fox and A&E Networks, and has played an integral role in the launch of several cable television networks, including Animal Planet and History. Her professional expertise includes identifying strategic alliances, managing media and talent relations, producing special events, implementing sponsorship opportunities and product integration initiatives, and generating brand activation opportunities tailored to each client’s specific goals. Prior to launching Coterie Media, Nikki served as Vice President of Entertainment for the powerhouse publicity firm Rogers & Cowan, where she was responsible for developing and implementing marketing, publicity and promotional campaigns. Prior to that, she spearheaded media and corporate communications for A&E and History. Nikki began her career in advertising at Ogilvy & Mather where she worked on Microsoft and American Express. She graduated from Pepperdine University with her degree in Marketing and Advertising.
In his role as Chief Enterprise Officer, Carey Warren is responsible for devising marketing, branding, promotions and public relations strategies for the agency’s clientele. Having co-founded the agency in 2001, Carey incorporates his considerable experience to generate strategic campaigns customized to create buzz, increase impact, generate traffic, and enhance value. Carey has also developed content and managed projects for clients such as PBS, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and WeTV. In addition, he has created and executed marketing strategies for many of the firm’s non-entertainment clients in the retail, medical, real estate, and corporate communications fields. Carey has also led initiatives for clients in the renewable energy field as well, including waste to energy technologies recommended by Concurrent Technologies Corporation under contract with the National Defense Center for Energy and the Environment. He also consults on a pro-bono basis with several cause-related think tanks in Washington, D.C. Carey’s expertise extends to Spanish language and direct response advertising, having worked in Hispanic broadcast media and direct response television. He began his career at The Wall Street Journal, and also managed offices for Katz Media, Hachette Filipacchi, and Guccione Media. Carey earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.
Jane Sparango brings over two decades of publicity and television production experience to her role of media relations and content creator at Coterie Media. Her entertainment industry and media relations expertise has led to a notable list of Hollywood production credits as well as appointments on high profile publicity campaigns. Previously, Jane served as a marketing and publicity consultant for television, beauty, corporate, and nonprofit clients. She also directed the publicity efforts for the Gil Garcetti-inspired nonprofit, Wells Bring Hope, where she was responsible for securing celebrity ambassadors, managing social media, creating branded web content, developing fundraising campaigns, and acting as press liaison. Prior to her consulting work, Jane held the position of senior publicist and supervising web content producer for MGM Studios’ “Stargate” franchise. During her four-year tenure, she was responsible for the production of over 200 video vignettes promoting MGM’s various “Stargate” television series, including promos, trailers, and viral campaigns. She was also responsible for securing press coverage for Stargate-SG1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. Jane began her career in New York City where she worked as a producer for over a decade on the long-running syndicated series, “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”
Eva Marnie Rankin
Eva Marnie Rankin brings over twelve years of experience to Coterie Media working in entertainment, political, and lifestyle public relations, with demonstrated skills in event marketing, media relations, and influencer relations. She has worked for companies like Twentieth Century Fox Film, SBE Entertainment Group and with celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, and President Bill Clinton. Eva began her career at Gift of Life Donor Program, a nonprofit group in Philadelphia, PA. There, she worked closely with volunteers, sponsors, media and event production staff to execute national publicity campaigns in support of organ donation. She went on to become a Press Assistant for Governor Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, and led a political action committee that raised over $41 million. Eva moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to become a publicist at Twentieth Century Fox, then transitioned into a position with international hotel and restaurant mogul, Sam Nazarian of SBE Group. There, she promoted his clubs, restaurants, bars and hotels, including Katsuya, Hyde Lounge, The Abbey, Area and SLS. Eva donates her time and expertise to the First Star Organization, a national public charity dedicated to improving the lives of abused and neglected children. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Relations from Rowan University.
Liz Svatek is the penultimate social media expert, and has a proven track record in building and accelerating brands and companies using social media strategy, blogger activation, influencer cultivation, and celebrity marketing and partnerships to drive sales results, generate awareness and create buzz. She connects high profile brands direct to consumers through her personalized social media strategies and network of bloggers and celebrities. Prior to joining Coterie Media, Liz founded Blacksheep Social Media Group, a full service social media agency that executed “out of the box” social media campaigns on multiple platforms. Her clients included celebrities, chefs, telecommunication and multimedia companies, authors and other experts in their fields. She is also the founder of Warrior Mom Brands and the One Fabulous Mom blog. Liz is a graduate of Rollins College.
Carolyn Thompson Goldstein
Carolyn brings over 25 years of talent and project management to Coterie Media, having worked for Caroline Leonetti Talent Agency, Media Artists Group, and Amsel, Eisentadt, and Frazier. At AEF, Carolyn spearheaded their Children and Young Adult department, working with actors from 3 to 25 years of age. Carolyn represented actors such as Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games), Trevor Einhorn (Frazier, Mad Men), Christa B. Allen (Revenge), David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place), Malcolm David Kelley (LOST), and Joy Lauren (Desperate Housewives). Carolyn continues to manage clients, recently placing them in commercials for Volkswagen, Sprint, and a series of network pilots. Carolyn’s most recent project involved our promotion with Ralphs, where she devised and directed a successful local outreach that gave away over $35,000 to needy schools. Carolyn has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola Marymount.
Brian Peterson is an award-winning B2B and B2C communications and marketing executive with many successes in designing, creating, and executing initiatives that have produced measurable results for some of the world’s biggest brands. Most recently, he served as the Head of PR for Esri, a billion-dollar international technology company that is the world leader in mapping software and geospatial data. Brian also served as vice president, corporate communications for Fox Cable Networks’ portfolio that included 37 television networks and 550 million subscribers. Prior to joining FCN’s corporate communications as director in 2007, Brian was the director of media relations for Fox Sports North in Minneapolis and served on the Board of Governors with the National Television Academy Upper Midwest Chapter. Brian was also a senior editor and project manager with the NFL’s creative services division in Los Angeles for more than 12 years, working with GameDay magazine, NFL Insider magazine, NFL.com, SuperBowl.com, General Mills, Miller Brewing, and RCA. He worked for the U.S. Olympic Committee during the 1988 Olympic Games, was assistant public relations director for the 1990 U.S. Olympic Festival, and has authored numerous magazine articles and books, including Terrell Davis: DK Readers Series, The World of NASCAR, Mark Martin: Perennial Contender, The World of NASCAR, Rusty Wallace: Short Track to Success, and Stadium Stories: Missouri Tigers. Brian graduated with honors from Pepperdine University with a Masters of Business Administration, and received a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. He serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands, teaching marketing management, marketing strategy, and principles of marketing.
